Hi I'm Back

Hi blogger’s its me Gemma sorry I haven’t been writing on the Blog and updating what’s been going on in the wee village of West Wemyss. I haven’t been that well so I have been tucked up in my bed trying to get better and now I’m feeling a lot better.


Well were now in to the Month of December and its about Christmas time and everything gets cheery and bright with Christmas lights! On the 1st of December myself and the other villagers in West Wemyss were on our way to put up the Christmas decorations and lights in the square All the children and myself and a few other adults stood around the Christmas Tree in the Square with tinsel and fairy lights also little sparkly balls and also miniature music figures and also other decorations......

 Everyone was enoying there self I was enjoying myself as well the was homemade mulled cider and that was delicious our chef Tomasz made the mulled cider. There was also the carol singers and to lead the carol singing off to a start was our guests from East Fife Ladies Choir who lead the Carol Singing.

Autumn / Winter Update

Autumn having now firmly set in with the first frosty mornings also appearing , we too at the Walk Inn have turned a leaf with the new season! To keep everyone warm through the winter, in addition to lighting our stoves, our chef Tomasz will be offering some hot lunch options (including his infamous creamy chowder!) during the week on our hot lunch days (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and instead of a weekly Evening Bistro, Tomasz will now be running a series of special Monthly Bistro days with themed menus. The cafe is also running a cake of the day offer during the week – come and try our delicious baking and a cuppa for £3.50, or if you need something more substantial, our daily soup and sandwich offer at £5.50 is back on!!

The first Monthly Bistro is on Saturday 16^th November with a selection of Tomasz’s fantastic Winter Warmer Casseroles (steak/beef/pork) available from lunchtime till 9pm – booking is essential so phone us now on 01592 652001!

December is all Christmas and there are still some places left for the Christmas Lunch and Dinner special running from 11^th to the 22^nd December – great food and a lovely atmosphere at a fantastic value of £13.95 for two courses and £16.95 for three!

Events

It has been a fantastically busy few weeks for us with an 80’s night, Halloween parties, the Sausage Sizzler Family night yesterday and a reading group meeting tonight. This Sunday you can pop down for a warming coffee or lunch after the Armistice Day services, and come down to see the December Art Exhibition from 28^th November, and we are all heading to the Coaltown of Wemyss to listen to the Tiriodh Ceilidh Band at the St Andrew’s Family Night in the village hall.

West Wemyss Walk Inn is hosting a FREE Beauty Evening on the 12th November @ 7 pm
This is fantastic opportunity to come and get answers to all your beauty and make-up questions from a qualified beautician, sample and try Avon products, see live demonstrations and even get a makeover! As an Avon consultant will also be present and this is a perfect opportunity to place your orders just in time for pre-Christmas delivery!

On Sunday 8^th December from 12 noon we are hosting a Swinging Sixties Christmas Lunch in the Walk Inn and you are all cordially invited to join us for a day of festivities on Saturday 14^th December starting at 11.00am with a Breakfast with Santa upstairs in the Walk Inn followed by a Christmas Craft Fair in the Square including a Santa’s Grotto from 12 noon till 3 pm. Come sample local crafts and taste mulled wine – Walk Inn open as usual!

New updates for events in West Wemyss

Hi Bloggers, it is Gemma Again!

West Wemyss had an 80's Night on the 19th October and here is are some pictures to let you see exactly what was going on - lots of 80’s drinks and music!!! 

 

 

As you can see they had their bright fluorescent colour clothes on with big hair and attitude. Everyone enjoyed teh evening and so you know there are more events like this one so check the  calendar of events for dates and times and move you’re booty down to the Walk Inn - everyone welcome!

Reading Group
Wemyss Walk Inn will be holding a reading group and would like everyone to come along and join in. From Action to Romance to adventure and Comedy anything you wish to read  come along and pop in to The Walk inn on Wednesday 6th November 2013 at 7.00pm.

Dominoes Nights
Did you know that Dominoes Nights run every Thursday from 8pm in the West Wemyss Walk Inn? Whether you are a dominoes newbie or an expert come and join this friendly group. Steak pie or drink of choice for winners! £1 doubles.  £1 singles.  Proceeds to Auld Wemyss Ways Heritage Center.

Looking for a day out not too far from home?
Then why not visit Auld Wemyss Ways Heritage Center (next to the West Wemyss Walk Inn). Information and artifacts about the history of the Wemyss Villages and you can enjoy a cake or snack in the Walk Inn cafe too!  If you have any artifacts or information please bring them along so we record and share your memories of the Wemyss with others. Suitable for all ages. 

Sausage Sizzle Family Night!

Come along to West Wemyss for a family BBQ and Socialize also sparklers will be given for fun. 6:30pm 5th of November.
